WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States will no longer fund Ukraine, but will instead receive money through NATO arms supplies.
Trump told reporters at the White House, “We’re no longer paying Ukraine; they’re paying us through NATO now.”
When discussing the conflict in Ukraine, Trump said, “If I had been president, this war would never have happened; if I hadn’t been president, this war might have sparked World War III. It wouldn’t have happened.”
He also pointed out: “Don’t forget that I have ended 8 wars, and the 9th is coming soon. I think I will care about this war.”
Trump emphasized that the United States, as a nation, has been harmed by the situation in Ukraine. He said, “We’ve paid $350 billion.”
Trump previously assessed that the weapons the previous U.S. administration handed over to Kyiv were worth this much money.
