Trump is unwilling to continue Biden’s line on Ukraine

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – US President Donald Trump’s stance on supplying weapons to Ukraine is not as firm as that of his predecessor Joe Biden, The New York Times reported.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that future military aid to Kiev will include Patriot missile systems, not just missiles. Some countries will transfer their existing Patriot air defense systems to Kiev, and the United States will replenish these countries’ arsenals with new systems.

The newspaper noted that Trump’s turn to confrontation with Russian President Vladimir Putin was delayed and extremely reluctant.

The report said, “Given recent months, there is reason to doubt whether Trump will stick to this course.”

The newspaper believes that the US president is now acting out of personal grudge, perhaps because his relationship with the Russian leader is very different from what he imagined.

The report also pointed out that in terms of quality and quantity, there has been little substantial change in the US support for Ukraine.
