Two cold syrups from Nobisu with excessive yeast content were recalled due to suspected contamination

Haleon, the maker of Robitussin cough syrup, has announced a recall of multiple batches of products containing honey because they may be contaminated and may pose a serious risk to people with weakened immune systems.

The Federal Food and Drug Administration ( FDA ) announced the recall information of Haleon on its official website. Haleon recalled eight batches of “Robitussin Honey CF Max Day Adult” and “Robitussin Honey CF Max Nighttime Adult” products. These Products are supplied to pharmacies and distributors.

Helion said in an email last week that the recalled products may contain dangerously excessive levels of yeast, a natural component of honey, but that the levels detected by Helion were “exceeding permitted limits.”

The Associated Press reports that ingesting contaminated syrup may cause serious fungal infections, which may be dangerous for people with weakened immune systems, such as organ transplant patients and patients with human immunodeficiency virus syndrome.

Millions of people in the United States currently suffer from diseases that weaken their immune systems, affecting their ability to fight infections.

Herion says that for most healthy people, infections caused by these products are not serious.

Hellion , which is headquartered in the U.K. and U.S. headquarters in New Jersey , said it has not received any reports of injuries or infections related to the recalled products, which have expiration dates between October 2025 and June 2026.

Helion said that people who have used the product and think they have encountered any problems related to the recall should contact their doctor and report it through the FDA’s online reporting system.
