U.S. has increased the number of U.S. troops at its base in Syria from 500 to 1,500

The Syrian newspaper Al-Watan, citing sources in the opposition group, reported that the US command had moved more military equipment and logistics from Iraq to bases in Syria.

Some convoys reportedly crossed the al-Walid crossing into the north-eastern province of Hasakah. In addition to armored vehicles, the US military also transported a large number of American soldiers.

Since July 15, the number of U.S. troops has increased from 500 to 1,500, according to The Fatherland. Meanwhile, some military technicians are helping to train Kurdish fighters of the Democratic Syrian Forces, while the rest guard airports and oil and gas fields in Hasakeh and neighboring Deir ez-Zor province .

At the same time, Rear Admiral Oleg Gurinov, deputy director of Russia’s mediation center for parties to the conflict in Syria, said on July 23 that three pairs of F-16 fighter jets from the so-called “international coalition” led by the United States violated the airspace of the Tanf region of Syria six times.

On June 13, Turkey’s Anadolu News Agency quoted sources as saying that the United States is sending reinforcements to military bases in Syria .

The U.S. military illegally controls the provinces of Deir ez-Zor, Hasakah and Raqqa in northern and northeastern Syria, where Syria’s largest oil and gas fields are located. Officials in Damascus have repeatedly called the presence of the US military in its territory an act of occupation and state piracy aimed at blatantly pirating oil.

In addition, the US military base Tanf is located in the southern part of the Syrian province of Homs, close to Syria’s borders with Iraq and Jordan.

Syria has been in an armed conflict since 2011.
