Coast Guard confirms that missing submersible imploded, killing all 5 passengers

According to the United States Coast Guard and the company leading the expedition, the missing Submersible imploded near the Wreck of the Titanic, killing all five people on board.

Experts say the ship’s implosion is the worst result since the Titan went missing when it sank in the North Atlantic on Sunday.

Experts warn that under immense pressure at extreme depths, the hull of the Titan may explode, which means that anyone on board will immediately die.

Associate Professor Eric Fossil, director of the shipbuilding center at the university, stated that the composite hull of the Titan has built-in sensors that can withstand high pressure near the seabed, but any defect can cause a “near instantaneous implosion” in Adelaide, Australia in less than 40 milliseconds.

Neither the Coast Guard nor the Ocean Gate Expedition provided detailed information about the implosion.

The water pressure at 12500 feet below the surface of the Titanic sinking site is approximately 400 atmospheres or 6000 PSI.

Jasper Graham Jones, associate professor of mechanical and ocean engineering at the University of Plymouth, said that Titan had carried out more than two deep-sea dives, which brought repeated pressure to the hull.

He said that this pressure may lead to delamination, which is the horizontal splitting of the carbon fiber hull.

Fossil stated that the Titan may also experience power outages, entanglements, or onboard fires.
