Three pimps and three hotel workers in New York City are facing 80 charges for allegedly forcing several minors into prostitution for several years.
The New York Post reported that the Bronx District Attorney’s Office issued a press release on the 6th stating that the six defendants include 34-year-old Akeem Lee (Akeem Lee), 32-year-old Flint (Marvin Flint) and 31-year-old Reyes. Prosecutors said the gang allegedly forced about 16 victims into illegal prostitution at the 7 Days Hotel and other places in the district between August 2019 and November 2022. Seven of the victims were minors, and it was alleged that a 16-year-old girl was forced to engage in sex work about 100 times within a year. Another victim was forced into prostitution between the ages of 14 and 17, and was beaten and strangled by Akim Li Zeng, who warned her to kill her if she dared to call the police.
Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark said the case involved brutal pimps and hotel workers.
The three hotel employees allegedly failed to check the IDs of pimps or sex workers, and profited by tipping off pimps when law enforcement sniffed them out.
Prosecutors have filed charges in court this week. The six will face 80 charges, including sex trafficking, forced prostitution, promotion of prostitution, intimidation of victims or witnesses, conspiracy, endangering the welfare of children, and falsifying business records; Flint And Lee was also charged with rape.
