Purported Epstein suicide note released by judge

A purported suicide note by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has been released by a judge, according to multiple reports.

The New York Times reported on Wednesday that the note, which had spent years sealed, was released by the judge in Epstein’s cellmate’s criminal case. According to the Times, the note allegedly from Epstein starts with: “They investigated me for months — FOUND NOTHING!!!”

The note goes on by stating that the investigation resulted in charges from years prior, per the Times.

“It is a treat to be able to choose one’s time to say goodbye,” the note says, according to the outlet. “Watcha want me to do — Bust out cryin!! NO FUN — NOT WORTH IT!!”

The scandal around Epstein has heated up in the past year, especially surrounding the Trump administration’s handling of files linked to the convicted sex offender. Epstein killed himself in August 2019 as he was awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

Last Thursday, the Times urged a New York courthouse to release an alleged suicide note from Epstein. The newspaper petitioned a judge to unseal the note that the disgraced financier’s cellmate Nicholas Tartaglione said he discovered in July 2019.

In a report titled “Jeffrey Epstein’s Possible Suicide Note Hidden From Public View,” the Times said that if the note were uncovered, it “could provide insights into his state of mind” in the period up to Epstein’s death.
