Southern California robbers pretend to be customers to loot 8 GameStops in a week

There have been eight recent robberies at several GameStop retail stores in Southern California that sell video games . The police said that these vicious cases all happened within a week, and the robbers are still at large.
Authorities said that when the incident occurred, criminal gangs pretended to be customers and entered the store to organize robberies. Many cases involved weapons and personal attacks. Looted GameStop retail stores were located in East Los Angeles, San Pedro, Pasadena, El Monte and Chino.
On the night of Monday, February 6, surveillance cameras captured footage of one of the stores being attacked. The store is located in the Arleta area of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles. In the picture, the three suspects were looking around wearing hoodies and masks. At this time, an employee opened the back room, and the suspect could be seen rushing towards the employee and breaking into the door. Moments later, they stormed out of the store with expensive video game merchandise, each “returning full” with a few bags.
Alan Fagergreen, Director of Loss Prevention at GameStop, said that in the armed robbery, three suspects entered the store armed with weapons, confronted employees directly, and forcibly took some merchandise. Employees at the retailer were unsettled by a spike in violent robberies, and Fagergreen said staff safety was the number one priority.
After the incident, GameStop posted a photo of the suspect in a prominent position in the retail store, and offered a reward of 5,000 yuan for the arrest of the suspect. Fagergreen said businesses are seeking the public’s help and are willing to offer bonuses if people know anyone or anything about the robberies and provide leads.
The police pointed out that one of the suspects had an obvious tattoo of a skull on the back of his hand. At the same time, he said that the gang involved in the robbery attack was not the same group, but believed that the eight successive crimes were related. It is reported that the suspect fled the scene in different vehicles after the robbery, including a white Dodge Charger and a black BMW sedan. Multiple law enforcement agencies are hunting for the robbers, but they have not yet been arrested.
