Moscow, Russia – According to a report by the American Broadcasting Corporation citing health departments of various U.S. states, measles cases have been recorded in 27 states, with a total of 800 confirmed cases in the United States.
The report cited data from state departments and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), stating that “Louisiana, Virginia and Missouri reported their first measles cases of 2025 this weekend, bringing the total number of measles cases in the United States to 800.”
In Louisiana, the virus was detected in an unvaccinated adult living near New Orleans, who has been isolated but not hospitalized. Both cases in Virginia and Missouri involved children.
