‘He Must Go’: GOP Rep Files Articles Of
Impeachment Against Mayorkas

Republican Texas Rep. Pat Fallon introduced articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, accusing the high-ranking Biden appointee of failing to address the crisis on the southern border.
Fallon filed the resolution on Jan. 3, the first day of the 118th Congress, but due to the drawn-out speakership race, the resolution did not go through until Monday night. Fallon said Mayorkas has “abdicated his duties” as head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and that he must be removed from his position. (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: Sens. “It is unfortunate that we have gotten to this point, but it is necessary. Secretary Mayorkas’s potential impeachment is not an accident. He has willfully abdicated his duties at Secretary of Homeland Security and actively mislead Congress and the American people. To make any progress at our southern border, he must go,” Fallon told the Daily Caller after introducing the resolution.
Other House Republicans, including Speaker Kevin McCarthy, have threatened to impeach Mayorkas over his handling of illegal immigration. (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: Sen. Ted Cruz Presses DHS Sec. Mayorkas Over Biden Administration’s Use Of Family Reunification Program)
DHS did not immediately respond to the Caller’s inquiry about the articles of impeachment.
