Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton said that Trump deprived him of his security benefits after taking office as US President.
“I am disappointed, but not surprised, that President Trump has stopped providing me with Secret Service protection,” Bolton wrote on the social networking site X.
Bolton left the White House in November 2019 and requested security from the U.S. Secret Service because of threats from Iran. Trump removed his protection at the end of his first term as president, but former U.S. President Biden later restored Bolton’s security.
Bolton noted that Biden gave him the protection of the U.S. Secret Service despite their differences on national security, and he believes that the threats against him still exist.
