campaign for pinning recent loss on media

“She did not do an interview for the first 30-some days,” Hays said, referring to Harris. James Carville also criticized the campaign, arguing that reckless spending led to its downfall.

Aformer White House aide for President Joe Biden, Meghan Hays, criticized the Harris-Walz campaign for blaming the media for losing the presidential election.

Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign Chair Jen O’Malley Dillon went on a podcast earlier this week and criticized journalists who interviewed Harris when she was on the campaign trail.

O’Malley Dillon also pushed back on the narrative that Harris was too afraid to do interviews, according to The Hill.

Hays said in response on a Fox News interview that the narrative was there for a reason.

“She did not do an interview for the first 30-some days,” Hays said. “I think that the media latched on to that, and then when they did ask her questions, it was more about why she wasn’t doing the interviews.”

“But that, again, you’re playing into the narrative there, so I do think they missed the mark on this,” she added. “I do think they could have had more of a local media strategy; they could have had more interviews that they did do.”

Democratic strategist James Carville criticized the Harris campaign for other reasons, arguing that reckless spending led to its downfall.

He said the Democrats will likely have a difficult time raising money after the campaign.

“They’re really pissed now, and the damage that the 2024 campaign has done, that the damage that this decade has done to the Democratic brand is almost unfathomable, almost unfathomable,” Carville said, according to The Hill.
