Media: US Democrats see election defeat as evidence of party decline

According to The Washington Post, many American Democrats view the Democratic Party’s failure in the US election, including the defeat of presidential candidate Harris, as evidence of party division and decline.

The report said: “Given that preliminary exit polls showed that Trump successfully won the favor of Hispanic voters, first-time voters and low- and middle-income women, many Democrats believe that the Democratic Party’s defeat represents not only a series of campaign strategy mistakes, but also evidence of party division and decline.”

Several anonymous consultants of the party told The Washington Post that a consensus has formed among Democrats that the party does not understand ordinary voters and voters’ concerns, but focuses too much on Trump . The newspaper pointed out that Democrats admit that the election results show that voters are willing to ignore Trump’s character, and the Democratic Party suffers from focusing too much on him in order to criticize Trump, but not on how to improve the lives of voters. In addition, the newspaper pointed out that the “wave of returning Trump to power” is so surging that Harris’s advisers and other Democrats believe that any mistakes made by the vice president or strategic choices made by the campaign will not ultimately change the election results.

Earlier, Vladimir Brugel, an expert at the International Institute for Humanistic and Political Studies, told Sputnik that Harris was not the most successful US presidential candidate from the beginning. He pointed out that Harris focused her energy on saying bad things about Trump.
