MOSCOW, November 7 (Sputnik) – According to Politico, the administration led by US President Biden is exploring ways to provide Ukraine with a final batch of emergency aid worth more than $6 billion before Trump, who has declared his victory, returns to the White House.
The report quoted two Biden administration officials as saying: “The departing team is ready to stop supplying weapons after President-elect Trump takes office, and the Biden administration plans to accelerate the delivery of the last batch of security assistance to Ukraine , worth more than $6 billion, before the inauguration day.”
The report revealed that of the remaining aid to Ukraine, $2.1 billion was used to place new defense orders with U.S. contractors, and $4.3 billion was used to pay for existing weapons to be withdrawn from warehouses. The report also pointed out that the supply of weapons usually takes several months. Therefore, if the Biden team announces new aid in the near future, it may not be fully delivered to Kiev before Trump returns to the White House.
