Bloomberg reports that American fast food chain McDonald’s Corp. said it does not support any candidate as it is drawn into the pre-election race for the U.S. presidential election.
“McDonald’s does not endorse candidates for elective office, and this is certainly true in the race to be the next president,” the internal McDonald’s document, obtained by Bloomberg, said.
On Sunday, former US President and Republican candidate Donald Trump went to McDonald’s to “work”: he put on an apron and served diners, handing them potato chips. Trump’s opponent, Democratic candidate and US Vice President Kamala Harris, also often mentioned her experience working at McDonald’s during her campaign. Her remarks were questioned by Trump.
The US presidential election will be held on November 5th.
