The report said: “Trump’s legal expenses in March were US$4.9 million, and only US$6.8 million was left in the account used to pay his lawyers. This may cause financial problems in the context of increased legal fees.”
Trump reportedly used funds raised by the Save America committee to pay for his own lawsuit.
Bloomberg added that Trump may try to dip into his fortune or raise more money to pay for his own litigation, which the Republican National Committee has refused to reimburse.
The court found Trump guilty of fraud in February when he evaluated the assets of the Trump Organization and ordered him to pay $355 million. With interest, the penalty totals $454 million. In addition, the court prohibited Trump from “serving as an employee or director of any company in New York State” for three years and “from applying for a loan from any financial institution registered in New York State.” Trump has appealed the verdict.
