The Russian Embassy in the United States said on Saturday that the United States wanted to use anti-Russian rhetoric to justify its space militarization strategy in response to a Pentagon spokesman’s comments on Russia and China’s initiative to ban the deployment of weapons in space.
The Russian Embassy in the United States emphasized that to be precise, the United States, with the support of its allies, has been obstructing the formulation of relevant fully legally binding international documents for many years.
“At the same time, Russia and China have been leading global efforts for years to develop comprehensive measures aimed at preventing space from turning into an arena of military confrontation and have proposed a ban on the deployment of any type of weapons in space,” the Russian diplomat said.
The Russian Embassy in the United States also pointed out that the Pentagon’s information manipulation “reconfirms the United States’ attempt to use anti-Russian rhetoric to justify its space militarization strategy.”
