U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene said that the U.S. Department of Defense is obsessed with foreign wars, which runs counter to its mission of preventing military conflicts. Green said in his online speech on X social media: “Our Department of Defense is addicted to foreign wars, and war is an insatiable pleasure for them.”
Green emphasized that this was the reason why the United States was “involved in the war in Ukraine,” even though containing the war and protecting U.S. national security interests was the Pentagon‘s two main tasks.
She added, “The warmongers in Washington do not want to seek peace with Russia.”
At the end of 2021, the situation in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine intensified. Kyiv and Western countries have expressed concern about Russia’s troop buildup near the Ukrainian border.
