Shocking new video shows hundreds of migrants crossing the Rio Grande near Eagle Pass and struggling to illegally enter the United States, as the southern border continues to near a breaking point.
Eagle Pass, Texas, has encountered over 3,000 undocumented migrants in recent days. It’s one of many southern cities overwhelmed by the flood of migrants at the border.
In El Paso, border agents are already at their limits with just over 4,000 migrants in custody in the city.
The city claims they’re encountering nearly 1,000 migrants each day, with most of them being released, according to KATV. It comes as Border Patrol chiefs say there’s a ‘new phenomenon’ of migrants turning themselves in and not avoiding arrest because they know they will be released under Biden administration policies.
The stunning admissions by the chiefs of several border sectors was revealed during testimony before the House Homeland Security Committee. The committee, led by top Republican Mark Green, is actively probing Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas‘ role in perpetuating the ongoing border crisis.
The newest video shows the migrants crossing the border near Eagle Pass through multiple locations after getting past the Rio Grande.
In the first part of the video, the migrants, lined up in droves next to a long, chain-link fence appearing ready to be processed.
The second half of the clip sees several physically swimming their way across the Rio Grande before piling past a barbed wire fence and in some cases, making camp on the shores to dry their clothes.
A border patrol agent told Fox News that ‘the TCOs (Transnational Criminal Orgs) know what they’re doing.’
Transnational Criminal Organizations are groups of criminals coordinated across national borders.
Cities along the border have been crushed by the influx of migrants as lax policies of Biden have led to thousands of migrants arriving in the last two years. Some of the arrivals have been put on buses and headed to northern cities.
The influx has led Lukeville, Arizona, border officials to shut down the port of entry in town to legitimate traffic.
The Tucson area, which Lukeville is part of, has seen 17,500 encounters in a single week – the highest weekly total ever recorded.
As thousands of migrants from around the world illegally slip into the nation by simply squeezing through openings in the border wall, federal agents at the port of entry have been sent to help understaffed Border Patrol officers handle the surge of unauthorized migrants.
The port of entry has been closed – a move that will cost businesses in Arizona thousands of dollars a day as legal crossers scramble to figure out how they will get to work and school on both the US or Mexican side.
The humanitarian and growing economic crisis has prompted both US Senators from the Grand Canyon to call on President Biden to send National Guard troops in to re-open the port of entry.
‘For far too long, Arizona communities have paid the price for Washington’s failures on the border,’ Arizona Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly said in a joint statement Tuesday.
‘This decision is an unacceptable outcome that further destabilizes our border, risks the safety of our communities, and damages our economy. Our ports of entry are key drivers of economic growth and security in our state, and it is critical that they be properly staffed and resourced.’
Gov. Katie Hobbs has also asked Pres. Biden to redirect some 200 National Guard members already in the Tucson area to Lukeville.
She has demanded $512 million from the federal government to repay what the state has spent on the border crisis.
Border Patrol agents are so overwhelmed in the remote desert hot spot– some 2.5 hours from Tucson- that they have used charter flights to transfer some migrants to El Paso, Texas and two other cities in the Lone Star State to process the border crossers.
Additionally, federal air marshals who usually guard commercial flights Federal Protective Service officers who guard U.S. government buildings, have been sent to the border, the Border Report revealed.
Over the summer, Lukeville became a popular crossing spot for migrants who were guided to open doors in the border wall by smugglers.
The gates were ordered to be welded open by top brass with the Border Patrol– infuriating rank and file agents who could do nothing to stop masses of migrants brazenly walk through the open floodgates into America.
Some 55,224 migrants illegally crossed into the country through the Tucson area in October.
The region remains the busiest in the nations for migrant encounters, according the federal government.
Since President Joe Biden took office in 2001, 3.8 million migrants have crossed the southern border into the Lone Star State.
Governors of red states such as Texas’ Greg Abbott and Florida’s Ron DeSantis have responded by busing the migrants to liberal enclaves like New York City and Martha’s Vineyard.
When Abbott first sent buses to Gotham in August 2022, New York City Mayor Eric Adams spokesman told the media, ‘New York will continue to welcome asylum seekers with open arm.’
A year later, Adams had completely changed his tune.
‘I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City,’ Adams declared in September.
Leaders in the Big Apple then took the their about-face further, first busing migrants to Canada in February and more recently, offering to buy one-way tickets out of town for migrants who wanted to leave the five boroughs.
Chicago has gotten the second most migrants from Abbot’s buses– 19,700 since last August.
Washington, D.C. was the first city to receive migrants from Abbott, with the first busload dropped off near the offices of Fox News where TV cameras were rolling near the nation’s capitol in April 2022.
So far, 12,500 asylum-seekers have been dropped off in the capital city, including several busloads dropped off near the home of Vice President Kamala Harris– who was named the Border Czar by President Biden– on Christmas Eve 2022 and again in May.
Over 6,800 migrants to Denver has received since May.
The State of Colorado also bussed migrants to New York City and Chicago last winter before suspending its program, reported Politico.
Officials in all the receiving city have complained they did not get a heads up that migrants were headed their way.
