Policing Pronouns: Border agents’ union lambasts latest Biden political correctness order

The Biden Homeland Security Department’s new pronoun rules for illegal immigrants is getting lambasted by the union for border patrol agents as an unnecessary distraction during the nation’s border and fentanyl crises.

A Customs and Border Protection (CBP) memo obtained by the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project and made public last week imposed new requirements on an already stretched thin team of border patrol agents.

“DO NOT use ‘he, him, she, her’ pronouns until you have more information about, or provided by, the individual,” the memo instructed agents.

Brandon Judd, the president of the National Border Patrol Council, confirmed to Just the News that the memo was sent to agents and he considered the requirement to be an unnecessary distraction for an agency swamped by millions of illegal immigrants under President Joe Biden.

“We can’t be worrying about whether we’re going to hurt somebody’s feelings,” Judd told the Just the News, No Noise television show.

“Now we have to be cognizant of their civil rights. But this is not a civil rights issue. This is simply a matter of preference. And, and, you know, again, taking the time to deal with that rather than deal with the actual laws that were supposed to be enforcing. This is the woke mob.”

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has defended the department’s new gender identity policies, insisting they are aimed at “ensuring that everyone, regardless of gender identity, is treated with respect” and are part of a “whole-of-government effort to promote equity and inclusion” in government.
