Sony Pictures said Wednesday that it has removed Bad Bunny’s Spider-Man spinoff film, “El Muerto,” from its release date schedule.

Sony and Marvel were originally hoping to go into full production in October, but ongoing issues have led the studios to pull it from the overall schedule, according to Deadline. Sources appear to suggest that Bad Bunny’s tour schedule and the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike have combined to make a finalized release date pretty complicated.

Fans will have to wait — potentially indefinitely — for the Bad Bunny flick. Initial reports suggest that the singer is taking on the lead role as the antihero of the saga. His character inherits his power from his father, a luchador.

“El Muerto” had a release date of January 12, 2024. Now, the slot will be filled by another film, “The Book of Clarence,” which was originally going to be released in September 2023.

A third film, “Dumb Money,” starring Paul Dano, is now filling in the September slot, so it sounds like everything has worked out perfectly. While I’m sure some people would love another superhero movie, I am totally burned out on them for the time being. Plus, after watching everything written by Taylor Sheridan, the characters of most other films and shows tend to fall a little flat.

Except for those played by Paul Dano. I’d never heard about “Dumb Money” before writing this story, so checked it out online. It sounds amazing! The story follows the “Wall Street chaos after GameStop’s stock skyrocketed due to Reddit,” according to its IMDb. Along with Dano, Seth Rogen, Nick Offerman, Pete Davidson, Sebastian Stan, and so many other incredible actors are taking part. I cannot wait.
