A man died Saturday night after falling at a concert at Madison Square Garden, according to New York City police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man, whose identity has not been released, was attending a concert by the rock band Goose when he fell from what police described as an \u201celevated position.\u201d Officers were called to 4 Penn Plaza, the arena\u2019s official address, at 9:51 p.m. and arrived to find a 51-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fire department transported him to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. It said reports indicated the man had fallen from a balcony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police said the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Goose expressing grief and gratitude for those who responded in a statement on Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight\u2019s show,\u201d the band said. \u201cWe extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MSG Entertainment also extended its condolences, saying in a statement Sunday that the company\u2019s \u201chearts go out to the family and friends of the concertgoer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
