Mace \u2014 who made her own bid for South Carolina governor this year \u2014 on Saturday took to social media to respond to Trump\u2019s TruthSocial post backing both candidates. \u201cLMAO,\u201d she wrote on the social platform X, using a common abbreviation for the phrase \u201claughing my a\u2013 off.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump gave a rare dual endorsement for both Republican contenders in the race for the Palmetto State\u2019s governor on Friday. The president originally placed his full backing behind the state\u2019s Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette for the Republican nomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Evette placed first in the primary election earlier this month, garnering 29 percent of the vote. However, it was not enough to avoid a runoff against South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Friday, Trump wrote on Truth Social that he was \u201choping\u201d the two candidates would advance and announced that he would also support Wilson for the nomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI can\u2019t hurt one of them by only Endorsing the other, so therefore, I am going to Endorse, for Governor of South Carolina, both Pam Evette and Alan Wilson!\u201d he wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s a Wealth of Riches \u2013 With either one you can\u2019t go wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mace only garnered 12.23 percent of the vote, coming in fifth place in the Republican primary, according to Decision Desk HQ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
