When “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg called to “change the regime” during a Wednesday discussion on Iran, she and her initially confused co-hosts had to clarify that she was referring to the Trump administration and not Iranian leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“What’s also interesting is it\u2019s reported that [Secretary of State] Marco Rubio and [Secretary of War] Pete Hegseth have opposed this deal,” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said during the segment in response to the U.S. potentially reaching a peace agreement with Iran following the three-month conflict. “So that to me shows that these are even people that are hardliners against the regime that don’t think it’s effective.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“What are [they] going to do about it though?” co-host Joy Behar asked. “They can’t stop it. It’s up to the president,” Griffin replied. “So it\u2019s useless,” Behar said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Well, you know, the only way to stop this is to change the regime,” Goldberg said. “Right,” Behar said. “That\u2019s not happening.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Well, but I believe it’s going to happen because Americans, you know, we know we have to pay for stuff we don’t like,” Goldberg said. “People pay for stuff that they don’t like.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Oh, \u2018Change this administration,\u2019” co-host Sunny Hostin said, clarifying that when Goldberg called to “change the regime,” she was talking about the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“You mean this regime,” Behar said in reference to the Trump administration, adding, “She’s calling it a regime.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Well, because that’s what it is to me,” Goldberg said. “That’s what it is, you know, and the only way that that changes is if people decide that they’ve had enough, and they go in and start voting.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Yeah, that is assuming that they haven’t rigged the election,” Behar replied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The United States and the Iranian regime have crafted a new Memorandum of Understanding to re-open the Strait of Hormuz and address the Islamic regime\u2019s nuclear program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The diplomatic breakthrough is slated to be sealed at a signing ceremony on June 19 in Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
