California-based Straus Family Creamery is recalling multiple organic ice cream products in pint and quart sizes due to the potential presence of metal fragments, according to a notice published Friday by the Food and Drug Administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company said the affected products were on store shelves beginning May 4 and that only lots identified by certain \u201cbest by\u201d dates are included in the recall. No injuries have been reported, the company said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Consumers are urged not to eat the recalled ice cream and discard the product. The company said customers should not return recalled items to stores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The FDA\u2019s notice said the recalled organic products were distributed in 17 states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
