{"id":5649,"date":"2023-02-12T06:01:07","date_gmt":"2023-02-12T12:01:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=5649"},"modified":"2023-02-12T06:01:11","modified_gmt":"2023-02-12T12:01:11","slug":"new-emails-raise-questions-if-secret-service-protected-biden-family-in-hunter-gun-probe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=5649","title":{"rendered":"New emails raise questions if Secret Service \u2018protected\u2019 Biden family in Hunter gun probe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A trove of new emails raises&nbsp;new questions about whether the Secret Service \u201cprotected\u201d the Biden&nbsp;family and obscured the agency\u2019s alleged involvement in a police probe after Hunter Biden\u2019s girlfriend&nbsp;ditched his gun in a trash can.<br \/>\nConservative nonprofit Judicial Watch obtained via Freedom of Information Act request 487 pages of Secret Service records about the October 2018 incident \u2014&nbsp;when Hunter\u2019s brother\u2019s widow and then-girlfriend, Hallie Biden, left his .38 handgun on in a supermarket garbage can in Wilmington, Delaware.<br \/>\nThe Secret Service emails began in October 2020 when an agent, whose name was redacted, shared a link to a colleague&nbsp;to an article from The Blaze about the gun incident in an email chain with other agents.<br \/>\nAnother official, whose name is redacted, responded: \u201cOh dear\u2026\u201d<br \/>\nA specialist in the agency\u2019s Protective Intelligence and Assessment Division&nbsp;then wrote to their colleagues: \u201cIt\u2019s kind of odd that we were involved in the missing gun investigation when neither Hunter or Joe were even receiving USSS protection at the time? Hmmm.\u201d<br \/>\nAnd another replied: \u201cMaybe we were asked for a favor?\u201d<br \/>\nA video was recovered from Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop of him naked pointing a firearm.<br \/>\nAs a former vice president, Joe Biden and his family were not receiving Secret Service protection at the time of the incident.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Secret Service is being cagey about what it did for Hunter and I believe Hunter when he said the FBI and Secret Service had intervened for him,\u201d Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton told The Post.<br \/>\n\u201cIn my view this is another example of Hunter and the Bidens getting taken care of and getting protected from the consequences of bad behavior \u2014 in this case this domestic issue which led to this gun being disposed of in an unsafe manner.\u201d<br \/>\nHunter\u2019s 2018 gun purchase is believed to be part of a years-long investigation into his personal and professional activities by the Department of Justice.
