April 23 (Reuters) – At least 10 people were injured \u200bafter tornadoes hit northern Oklahoma on Thursday, \u200cKOCO News, an affiliate of ABC News, reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the report, emergency crews were conducting search and rescue operations \u200bafter a tornado caused significant damage, impacting \u200bVance Air Force Base, which is located in \u2060Enid, Oklahoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The air force base confirmed the \u200bimpact from the tornado in a Facebook post and \u200bsaid they were conducting accountability procedures to ensure all personnel were safe and accounted for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Base leadership is assessing the installation \u200bto determine the extent of damage and \u200bto ensure the safety of facilities and infrastructure,” Vance Air Force \u200cBase \u2060said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Enid Mayor David Mason said personnel from the city’s police department and the fire department were coordinating emergency response efforts and urged residents to \u200bstay away from \u200bthe Grayridge \u2060area, which was impacted by the tornado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to local media reports, the \u200bGarfield County emergency manager had reported at \u200bleast \u206010 people were injured in the area with minor injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mason’s office and the Garfield County emergency management \u2060did \u200bnot immediately respond to a \u200bReuters’ request for details about the reported injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
