WASHINGTON, April 9 (Reuters) – Americans could see a first-of-its-kind fight \u200bas they prepare to celebrate the country’s 250th independence: a \u200ccage match between the sons of a sitting U.S. president, and the son of a former president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The improbable possibility arose on Thursday when Hunter Biden, son \u200bof former Democratic President Joe Biden, challenged Republican President Donald Trump’s \u200beldest sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, to a fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Biden \u2060said he got a call from left-wing social media commentator Andrew \u200bCallaghan, who told him that he was organizing the match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I told him \u200bI’d do it \u2014 100% in if he can pull it off. And if he can’t, I’m still coming,” he said in a video shared on Callaghan’s \u200bChannel 5 Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Trump Organization and White House did not immediately \u200brespond to requests for comments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is unclear if or when this match would happen. \u200cThe \u2060White House plans to host a similar event \u2014 but with actual UFC fighters \u2014 on June 14 as part of a series of events celebrating the semiquincentennial of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Biden became president after defeating Trump \u200bin the 2020 election, \u200bwhich the Republican \u2060continues to falsely claim was the result of widespread fraud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The threatened match between their sons has echoes \u200bof a proposed 2023 cage match between tech titans \u200bMark Zuckerberg \u2060and Elon Musk, though that event never took place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
