Staub, 44, a former employee of Cooper University Health Care in Camden, is alleged to have impersonated a medical supply vendor as she sold the devices to a medical supply company, the Camden County Prosecutor\u2019s Office said in a release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">She has been charged with theft, receiving stolen property, distribution of prescription drugs and impersonation of a representative of a medical organization, the release said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Prosecutors said detectives obtained financial records showing Staub received more than $427,000 in payments from reselling the items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">On Oct. 2, the hospital noticed that a large quantity of Medtronic Infuse bone graft devices and other supplies were missing and that its inventory did not match the documented number of products recorded as used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Cooper University Health Care said it is cooperating with the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs this is an active criminal investigation, Cooper University Health Care cannot comment beyond that we actively investigated this incident and reported it to law enforcement as soon as it was discovered, terminated the employee, and continue to cooperate with the investigation,&#8221; the hospital said in a statement. &#8220;Theft or any violation of the law will not be tolerated at Cooper.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Prosecutors said in their release that hospital officials noticed they were refilling orders for the devices more frequently from December 2024 through July, despite not seeing an increase in patient care that would account for the additional usage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDuring the investigation that followed, detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor\u2019s Office Major Crimes Unit reviewed surveillance footage from November to December 2025, showing Staub arriving at work with an empty bag and then leaving with it filled,\u201d the release said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">In December, the Camden County Sheriff\u2019s Office caught Staub leaving the hospital with medical supplies, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Since then, she has been fired and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility, where she remains in custody.
