{"id":55509,"date":"2026-04-05T15:18:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-05T20:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=55509"},"modified":"2026-04-06T02:21:02","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T07:21:02","slug":"hiker-airlifted-off-arizona-mountain-after-being-stung-over-100-times-by-bees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=55509","title":{"rendered":"Hiker airlifted off Arizona mountain after being stung over 100 times by bees"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">A hiker was airlifted to safety from an Arizona mountain after he was stung over 100 times by bees over the weekend, officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The man reported \u201cover 100 stings\u201d by bees near the summit of Lookout Mountain Preserve in north Phoenix on Saturday morning, the Phoenix Fire Department said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The stings left him \u201cunable to continue his descent,\u201d fire officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Rescue teams from Phoenix and Glendale responded and conducted a hoist operation to airlift the hiker from the mountain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">He was transferred to an ambulance at the trailhead and on to the hospital in critical condition, the fire department said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The fire department warned hikers to avoid disturbing hives and scented products and to wear light-colored clothing when they explore the outdoors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf you encounter a swarm \u2014 run away quickly and protect your head and face,\u201d the fire department said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/hiker-airlifted-arizona-mountain-stung-100-bees-rcna266806\">Nbcnews<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A hiker was airlifted to safety from an Arizona mountain after he was stung over 100 times by bees over the weekend, officials said.
