The \u201cPB\u201d and \u201cCB\u201d stand for JPMorgan\u2019s private and commercial banks, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The president filed suit against JPMorgan and its CEO, Jamie Dimon, last month. In a 26-page complaint, Alejandro Brito, Trump\u2019s attorney, claimed that the financial institution \u201cdebanked\u201d him for political reasons after Jan. 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Capitol riot came after Trump sought to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, which he lost to former President Biden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cPlaintiffs are confident that JPMC\u2019s unilateral decision came about as a result of political and social motivations, and JPMC\u2019s unsubstantiated, \u2018woke\u2019 beliefs that it needed to distance itself from President Trump and his conservative political views,\u201d Brito wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">JPMorgan said at the time the lawsuit had \u201cno merit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The president and Republican lawmakers have long accused major banks of closing the accounts of conservative customers and organizations. The Trump Organization sued Capital One last March for closing more than 300 of its accounts after Jan. 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cIn a devastating concession that proves President Trump\u2019s entire claim, JPMorgan Chase admitted to unlawfully and intentionally de-banking President Trump, his family, and his businesses, causing overwhelming financial harm,\u201d the president\u2019s lawyers said in a statement, according to the AP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cPresident Trump is standing up for all those wrongly debanked by JPMorgan Chase and its cohorts, and will see this case to a just and proper conclusion,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/5750115-jpmorgan-chase-trump-accounts\/\">Thehill<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JPMorgan Chase this week acknowledged it closed President Trump\u2019s bank accounts in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, The Associated Press reported.
