Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) on Monday said the process of funding the government will \u201cbe a clown circus for a few days\u201d amid a partial government shutdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI think that by the end of the week, the House and the Senate will have passed 11 of the 12 appropriations bills. Now, it\u2019ll be a bumpy road for the House. It\u2019ll be a, it\u2019ll be a clown circus for a few days, but I think they\u2019ll ultimately pass,\u201d Kennedy told CNN\u2019s Wolf Blitzer on \u201cThe Situation Room.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe only bill that will not pass is the Department of Homeland Security budget, and frankly, I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s possible to pass that bill,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBecause?\u201d Blitzer asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBecause both sides are dug in. There are Republicans who will not vote for any type of reform; there are Democrats who will not vote for any type of funding, for [Immigration and Customs Enforcement].\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
