{"id":53136,"date":"2026-01-26T19:20:00","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T01:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=53136"},"modified":"2026-01-27T03:21:53","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T09:21:53","slug":"venezuelas-leader-signals-frustration-with-trump","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=53136","title":{"rendered":"Venezuela\u2019s leader signals frustration with Trump"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Venezuela\u2019s acting President Delcy Rodr\u00edguez said she has had enough of orders from Washington, in a speech to a group of oil workers broadcast on Venezuela\u2019s state-run television network Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Rodr\u00edguez\u2019s remarks come a little more than three weeks after President Trump announced the capture of Venezuelan President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro in an audacious military raid in Caracas. He has since declared the U.S. would take over the country\u2019s oil industry and dictate orders to the government.&nbsp;<br><br>\u201c<strong>Enough already<\/strong>&nbsp;of Washington\u2019s orders over politicians in Venezuela,\u201d Rodr\u00edguez told a group of oil workers in Puerto La Cruz, CNN reported.&nbsp;<br><br>\u201cLet&nbsp;<strong>Venezuelan politics resolve our differences<\/strong>&nbsp;and our internal conflicts. This republic has paid a very high price for having to confront the consequences of fascism and extremism in our country.\u201d<br><br>Trump greenlit Rodr\u00edguez staying in her role after the capture and transfer of Maduro to New York to stand trial for criminal drug charges.&nbsp;<br><br>Trump told reporters last week that Rodr\u00edguez had \u201c<strong>shown very strong leadership<\/strong>&nbsp;so far,\u201d \u201chad done a very good job,\u201d and was working with the U.S. to move millions of barrels of oil \u201cinto the United States.\u201d&nbsp;<br><br>\u201cWe\u2019re working with them and they\u2019ll get some of that, and we\u2019re going to get some of that,\u201d Trump said aboard Air Force One on his way back from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.<br><br>\u201cAnd it\u2019ll be divided up and&nbsp;<strong>our country will become richer<\/strong>, and that means our taxes are going to be going down and, and they will do better. Venezuela\u2019s going to do better than they\u2019ve ever done. Even with us, you know, taking a, a very fair piece of it.\u201d<br><br>However, Trump has also warmed to opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/maria-corina-machado\/\"><u>Mar\u00eda Corina Machado\u2002<\/u><\/a>after initially saying she didn\u2019t have support in the country.<br><br>Trump met with Machado on Jan. 15 in the White House, where she presented the president with her 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, an award the president had openly coveted and campaigned for.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/newsletters\/defense-national-security\/5707467-venezuelas-leader-signals-frustration-with-trump\/\">thehill<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Venezuela\u2019s acting President Delcy Rodr\u00edguez said she has had enough of orders from Washington, in a speech to a group of oil workers broadcast on Venezuela\u2019s state-run television network Sunday.
