{"id":52608,"date":"2026-01-14T22:34:00","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T04:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=52608"},"modified":"2026-01-15T02:36:18","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T08:36:18","slug":"trump-says-zelensky-is-holding-up-peace-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=52608","title":{"rendered":"Trump says Zelensky is holding up peace deal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/donald-trump\/\"><u>President Trump\u2002<\/u><\/a>said Ukrainian President&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/volodymyr-zelensky\/\"><u>Volodymyr Zelensky\u2002<\/u><\/a>is slowing down a peace deal for the war in Ukraine, according to Reuters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cI think he\u2019s ready to make a deal,\u201d Trump said during a Reuters interview, talking about Russian President Vladimir Putin. \u201cI think Ukraine is less ready to make a deal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">When Reuters pressed the president on why negotiations headed up by the U.S. were not finding a solution to the end of the war, Trump said \u201cZelensky.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Throughout Trump\u2019s second term, his administration has pushed for an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine, to little success. The president has met with Zelensky multiple times and met with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/vladimir-putin\/\"><u>Putin\u2002<\/u><\/a>in Alaska a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/5455928-trump-putin-alaska-summit\/\"><u>few months ago.<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Late last month, Trump met with Zelensky at Mar-a-Lago. During a joint press conference after their meeting, the two leaders said that there was forward motion on a 20-point peace proposal supported by Zelensky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cOur meeting was excellent, we covered \u2014 somebody would say 95 percent, I don\u2019t know what percent \u2014 but we have made a lot of progress on ending that war,\u201d Trump said during the press conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">However, when Trump was asked at the press conference about \u201cthe thorniest issues still unresolved,\u201d he responded that land was one of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cI think the land \u2014 you\u2019re talking about \u2014 some of that land has been taken.
