Actor Kiefer Sutherland, a film and television star since the 1980s, was arrested Monday after he was alleged to have physically assaulted and threatened a ride-share driver, police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sutherland, 59, was arrested at Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Hollywood after officers responded to a report of an assault around 12:15 a.m., Los Angeles Police Officer Kevin Terzes said by email Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe investigation determined that the suspect, later identified as Kiefer Sutherland, entered a rideshare vehicle, physically assaulted the driver (the victim), and made criminal threats toward the victim,\u201d Terzes said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sutherland\u2019s representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment Tuesday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Terzes said the victim didn\u2019t sustain any injuries that required medical treatment at the scene and added that an investigation continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sutherland was booked into jail a little after 4 a.m. on an unspecified felony charge, according to Los Angeles County jail records. He was assigned $50,000 bail and bonded out about seven hours later, the records show. He was scheduled to appear in court Feb. 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
