Kennedy Jr.,<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;said her husband is \u201cnot going to run for president\u201d in 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cCheryl, is your husband going to run for president in 2028, and if so, are you ready for that?\u201d NewsNation\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/elizabeth-vargas\/\"><u>Elizabeth Vargas\u2002<\/u><\/a>asked Hines on her show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cGosh, he\u2019s not going to run for president,\u201d Hines responded, though she did later say she \u201cdidn\u2019t think he was going to go into politics, and the next thing you know, he\u2019s telling me he wants to run.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Other Trump allies whose names have been floated for the 2028 race include&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/j-d-vance-2\/\"><u>Vice President Vance\u2002<\/u><\/a>and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Kennedy, who ran for president as a Democrat and later an independent for the 2024 race, backed&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/donald-trump\/\"><u>President Trump\u2019s\u2002<\/u><\/a>bid for the White House&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4844566-rfk-jr-suspends-campaign-trump\/\"><u>in August of that year<\/u><\/a>. He later became Trump\u2019s HHS secretary, a controversial choice given his history of comments on health, most notably on vaccines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Centers for Disease Control\u2019s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted 8-3 on Friday to exclusively recommend birth doses of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/healthcare\/5636479-acip-hepatitis-b-vaccine-vote-takeaways\/\"><u>hepatitis B vaccine<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;for infants born to mothers who have&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/healthcare\/5639251-cdc-adviser-acip-drops-hepatitis-b-recommendation\/\"><u>tested positive for the virus<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Local and state health leaders&nbsp;indicated&nbsp;Friday they&nbsp;don\u2019t&nbsp;plan to&nbsp;abide by the ACIP\u2019s decision.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/5639856-cheryl-hines-kennedy-2028\/\">thehill<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cheryl Hines, the wife of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary&nbsp;Robert F.
