A men\u2019s boutique in New York City was robbed up to $1 million worth of merchandise, according to authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4Gseller, located in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood, was robbed in the early hours of Monday, a New York City Police Department spokesperson said in a statement. Four unidentified individuals entered the shop through the fire escape, took the merchandise and fled in a sedan, according to the spokesperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The boutique sells luxury one-of-a-kind apparel items to private clients, including rappers Tyga, Offset and Future, according to the store\u2019s website and Instagram. It is located in the high-end retail district just steps away from other luxury retailers like Chanel and Jacquemus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Representatives for 4Gseller did not immediately return requests for comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Guy Story, who lives in an apartment above the SoHo boutique, told NBC News that he and his wife heard the robbers at about 4:15 a.m. Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We were awakened by a crashing sound,” he said. “We didn’t know what it was. And then some other noises, which were also unfamiliar.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said he and his wife looked out the windows, but didn’t see anything. A few moments later, he and his wife heard police arriving to their building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Linda Bradley Jones, another resident of the building, told NBC News the robbery also woke her up in the middle of the night. She said that the alarm for the door that leads to the building’s rooftop was set off. It is not clear if the unidentified individuals were on the roof of the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The speculation was that whoever did it knew what these people had in their store, right?” she said. “Because it was not an advertised store. It’s not something like on the street.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jones said she\u2019s never been inside the store, but was familiar with some of its celebrity clients, including Mark Zuckerberg, whom she said she passed once in her building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tommy Macari, who works at the store, told NBC New York that jeans worth $90,000 to $150,000 were stolen, including a pair that once belonged to Lenny Kravitz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Two guys brought a ladder, their own ladder. They came up the fire escape, threw a brick through this window here. They came in and knew exactly the pieces they were looking for,” he told NBC New York. \u201cThey took all the jeans which are the most valuable.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Macari added that the burglars were in the store for about four minutes and that police showed up 90 seconds after they left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Luke Farcher, who owns SoHo men\u2019s boutique Luke\u2019s, told NBC News that 4Gseller was known for their large inventory of Chrome Hearts apparel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Robbing people for apparel doesn’t seem like the most profitable thing. But I guess Chrome is kind of an outlier just because it is so expensive on the resale market,” he said. “It’s very liquid as opposed to other brands just because there’s so much demand for it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No arrests have been made in the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
