{"id":50366,"date":"2025-11-25T20:54:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T02:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=50366"},"modified":"2025-11-25T21:07:22","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T03:07:22","slug":"faa-probes-amazon-after-delivery-drone-snaps-internet-cable-in-texas-cnbc-reports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=50366","title":{"rendered":"FAA probes Amazon after delivery drone snaps internet cable in Texas, CNBC reports"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Nov 25 (Reuters) &#8211; The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration is probing Amazon&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/companies\/AMZN.O\"><u>(AMZN.O), opens new tab<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;after one of its delivery drones downed an internet cable in central Texas last week, CNBC reported on Tuesday, citing a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) spokesperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The e-commerce major confirmed the incident to CNBC, saying that after clipping the internet cable, the drone performed a &#8220;safe contingent landing&#8221;, adding that there were no injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Video footage reviewed by the network showed one of Amazon&#8217;s MK30 drones ascending from a customer&#8217;s yard when one of its six propellers became entangled in a utility line. The drone&#8217;s motors subsequently shut down, resulting in a controlled descent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said the agency is not investigating the incident. Amazon and FAA did not immediately respond to Reuters&#8217; requests for comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">This comes after NTSB and FAA&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/retail-consumer\/ntsb-faa-probe-crashes-two-amazon-delivery-drones-2025-10-02\/\"><u>said<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;in October that they would investigate a separate incident where two Amazon Prime Air drones collided with a crane boom in Arizona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Amazon began delivering prescription medications by drones in partnership with Amazon Pharmacy to customers in College Station, Texas in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The e-commerce firm has a goal of delivering 500 million packages annually by drone by the end of 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/retail-consumer\/faa-probes-amazon-after-delivery-drone-snaps-internet-cable-texas-cnbc-reports-2025-11-26\/\">reuters<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nov 25 (Reuters) &#8211; The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration is probing Amazon&nbsp;(AMZN.O), opens new tab&nbsp;after one of its delivery drones downed an internet cable in central Texas last week, CNBC reported on Tuesday, citing a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) spokesperson.
