{"id":4982,"date":"2023-02-01T03:24:47","date_gmt":"2023-02-01T09:24:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=4982"},"modified":"2023-02-01T22:06:40","modified_gmt":"2023-02-02T04:06:40","slug":"migrants-turn-nyc-hotel-into-violent-drug-infested-free-for-all-employee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=4982","title":{"rendered":"Migrants turn NYC hotel into violent, drug-infested \u2018free-for-all\u2019: employee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A once-trendy Manhattan hotel has become a wild \u201cfree-for-all\u201d of sex, drugs and violence after the city began housing migrants there, an employee claimed Tuesday.<br \/>\nRow NYC worker Felipe Rodriguez \u2014 who&nbsp;told The Post&nbsp;earlier this month that migrants were throwing away \u201ctons\u201d of prepared food at the hotel \u2014 said the facility has now descended into \u201ctotal chaos.<br \/>\n\u201cChaos, total chaos,\u201d Rodriguez&nbsp;told \u201cFox &amp; Friends\u201d&nbsp;when asked to describe conditions at the hotel. \u201cThere\u2019s no accountability.<br \/>\n\u201cThere is no daily supervision to show these people that \u2026 \u2018You don\u2019t destroy your hotel. You are only there temporarily. This is not your home.<br \/>\n\u201c[The employees] endure a lot of disrespect from the migrants, and there [are] some nice migrants, but there\u2019s too much alcohol, too much drugs and too much violence, and you have teenagers \u2026 going into the staircases and making out like it\u2019s Lover\u2019s Lane,\u201d Rodriguez said. \u201cThis is a free-for-all.<br \/>\nThe hotel, which was converted to house the sudden flood of migrants into the city, is just blocks away from the Watson Hotel in Hell\u2019s Kitchen, where dozens of asylum-seekers have been camped out for several days&nbsp;protesting their removal&nbsp;for new accommodations in Brooklyn.<br \/>\nRodriguez, who is a runner at Row NYC, said that the hotel workers have been the ones who end up paying the price amid the anarchy. He said he was forced to go on disability after he was injured trying to deliver a refrigerator through a \u201ccluttered\u201d room.<br \/>\nRodriguez told Fox that the hotel is making more money from the city than it would if it hosted guests.<br \/>\nRow NYC did not immediately respond to the Post\u2019s request for comment.<br \/>\nOver 43,000 migrants have arrived in New York City since the spring, with some 26,000 housed in the city\u2019s hotels, according to Mayor Eric Adams\u2019 office.<br \/>\nAt a visit to the southern border earlier this month, Adams said migrants should be warned there\u2019s \u201cno more room\u201d for them in New York as the price tag of of the crisis reached an estimated $2 billion.<br \/>\n\u201d&nbsp;In New York, you go there, you\u2019re going to be living in congregate settings, that there is no more room in New York. That should be coordinated by our national government,\u201d he told reporters.<br \/>\nThe 50 or so protesters outside of the Watson Hotel, who are all single men, are&nbsp;understandably upset&nbsp;that they are being upended from their three-star hotel where they were no more than two to a room for hangar-like conditions at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook.<br \/>\nPresident Biden, who visited the Manhattan side of the Hudson River Tunnel project in Chelsea, declined to visit the protesters as they huddled under blankets outside of the 57th Street hotel,&nbsp;joined by activists.<br \/>\nAdams has publicly pleaded with the White House to&nbsp;provide $1 billion in emergency migrant aid&nbsp;and has&nbsp;described the situation as a \u201cdisaster.\u201d<br \/>\nHe scheduled to take a tour of the project with Biden and Hochul but the tour was canceled when Biden arrived too close to the start of the event, sources told The Post.<br \/>\nAdams did have an opportunity to speak with Biden \u201cprivately\u201d after, a City Hall source said.
