A 17-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly stabbing another teenager to death during a house party in New York, police announced on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident occurred a week ago at a house in West Babylon on Long Island, police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Approximately 90 to 100 teenagers were at a party outside the home on Nov. 3 when a fight broke out at approximately 10:25 p.m., Suffolk County police\u00a0said<\/a>.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Liam Delemo, 15, was stabbed during the fight, police said. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Homicide detectives have now charged a 17-year-old boy from Syosset with second-degree murder in connection with Delemo’s death, police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Police said they are withholding the name of the suspect due to his age. The teen is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in a Central Islip courthouse, police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Authorities did not release any details on what led up to the fight.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Police allege the owner of the home where the stabbing occurred allowed her grandchild to have a party there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The homeowner, identified by police as 70-year-old Bonnie Miranda, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, pertaining to Delemo, police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She has also been charged with Suffolk County’s social host law, which makes it a crime to allow underage drinking in your home, police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Police did not release any details, including the name or age, of the grandchild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ABC News has reached out to Miranda for comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Services are being held this week in honor of Delemo, from West Babylon, who died weeks before his 16th birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “He loved all of his friends,” his father, Mike Delemo, told local reporters<\/a> gathered outside the funeral home in Lindenhurst. “He would do anything for them.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n “They know if they need anything, they could always come to us,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
