Rep. Nancy Pelosi\u2002<\/u><\/a>(D-Calif.) called President Trump\u2002<\/u><\/a>\u201cthe worst thing on the face of the earth\u201d during a recent interview with CNN\u2019s Elex Michaelson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe\u2019s just a vile creature. The worst thing on the face of the Earth,\u201d Pelosi said<\/u><\/a> in a video clip posted on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interview is expected to air in full on CNN\u2019s \u201cThe Story Is with Elex Michaelson\u201d at midnight E.T. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pelosi went on to criticize the president even further, saying Trump \u201cdoes not honor the Constitution\u201d and has \u201cturned the Supreme Court into a rogue court.\u201d She added that he has \u201cabolished the House of Representatives,\u201d referencing Trump\u2019s influence over House Speaker Mike Johnson\u2002<\/u><\/a>(R-La.), and has \u201cchilled the press\u201d while in office. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pelosi and Trump have taken aim at each other in the past. Last year, Trump took to social media to knock Pelosi<\/u><\/a> after she called him \u201cdangerous\u201d and \u201cevil\u201d following his false claims about the Jan. 6, 2021, attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier Monday, NBC News reported<\/u><\/a> that multiple California and House Democrats believe Pelosi, 85, will not run for reelection<\/u><\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ian Krager, Pelosi\u2019s communications director, said on the social platform X<\/u><\/a> later in the day that his boss is \u201cfully focused\u201d on the California redistricting proposition, on the ballot in Tuesday\u2019s elections in the Golden State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked about her 2026 plans on Monday, Pelosi deflected, saying her focus is on the redistricting initiative and ensuring Democrats win back the House \u201cto protect us from the poison of the Trump administration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative, Proposition 50<\/u><\/a>, would transfer control of California redistricting from an independent commission to the state Legislature if it passes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pelosi, California Gov. Gavin Newsom<\/u><\/a> (D), former President Obama<\/u><\/a> and other prominent Democrats are backing<\/u><\/a> the proposal, added to the ballot in response to the GOP-led Texas Legislature redrawing its congressional map mid-decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Multiple challengers<\/u><\/a>, including state Sen. Scott Wiener<\/u><\/a> and Saikat Chakrabarti<\/u><\/a>, a former chief of staff<\/u><\/a> to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/u><\/a> (D-N.Y.), have entered the Democratic primary in Pelosi\u2019s district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two-time House Speaker, though, told CNN that if she ran for a 20th full term in Congress, she has \u201cno doubt\u201d she would win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat isn\u2019t even a question,\u201d she said. \u201cIt isn\u2019t arrogant, it\u2019s competent. I know my district.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
