Rep. Nancy Mace\u2002<\/u><\/a>(R-S.C.) criticized Charleston International Airport (CHS) security after a police report filed<\/u><\/a> last Thursday alleged she blasted officers in a profanity-laced tirade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mace, during a Monday morning appearance on Fox Business<\/u><\/a>, said that officers did not show up on time to greet her at the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is a serious issue, and mediocrity when it comes to airport security and security breaches will not be tolerated,\u201d said Mace, who is running for governor in the Palmetto State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the police report<\/u><\/a> filed by Charleston County Aviation Authority officers, police were scheduled to meet Mace, who was set to arrive in a white BMW, at 6:30 a.m. EDT at the ticketing area. From there, they would escort the lawmaker to her flight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At roughly 6:35 a.m. EDT, though, officers were informed that Mace was about 15 minutes behind schedule. Just prior to 7 a.m. EDT, dispatchers told the officers that Mace was at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Known Crewmember entrance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the officers arrived at that entrance, Mace \u201cimmediately began loudly cursing and making derogatory comments to us and about the department,\u201d the report states. Mace allegedly added that the officers were \u201cf\u2014ing incompetent\u201d and that \u201cthis is no way to treat a f\u2014ing U.S. Representative.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mace proceeded to board her flight to O\u2019Hare International Airport at roughly 7:10 a.m. EDT, and departed at around 7:30 a.m. EDT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later that Monday morning, Mace posted<\/u><\/a> messages between members of her staff and CHS security to the social platform X, saying that if the airport \u201ccontinues to lie, we will continue to expose the lies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the messages, on Wednesday, a member of her staff informed security that Mace would be arriving at roughly 6:30 a.m. EDT at CHS in a silver BMW. At 6:29 a.m. EDT on the day of her flight, another staffer informed security that the congresswoman would arrive within 10 to 15 minutes, with an officer noting the change five minutes later. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly thereafter, the second staffer said that Mace was waiting at the TSA entrance, with another officer responding that they were \u201ctrying to get it taken care of.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later in the morning, after Mace boarded her flight, the staffer informed the second officer that they had \u201cdropped her at the center doors\u201d and that they had arrived in a silver BMW. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a separate chat, an officer said security \u201chad everything setup for her to have someone waiting when she arrived\u201d and that they were \u201cnot sure what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
