{"id":48754,"date":"2025-10-19T16:53:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-19T21:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=48754"},"modified":"2025-10-19T22:57:41","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T03:57:41","slug":"united-airlines-flight-diverted-after-windshield-cracks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=48754","title":{"rendered":"United Airlines flight diverted after windshield cracks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">LOS ANGELES (<a href=\"https:\/\/ktla.com\/news\/local-news\/united-airlines-pilot-injured-as-boeing-windshield-shatters-mid-flight-to-lax\/\"><u>KTLA<\/u><\/a>) \u2014 Officials are investigating how a windshield cracked during a United Airlines flight from Denver to the Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday, officials confirmed to Nexstar\u2019s KTLA on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cOn Thursday, United flight 1093 landed safely in Salt Lake City to address damage to its multilayered windshield,\u201d a United Airlines representative stated. \u201cWe arranged for another aircraft to take customers to Los Angeles later that day and our maintenance team is working to return the aircraft to service.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">United said there were about 134 customers and 6 crew members aboard the Boeing 737 Max 8 at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The National Transportation Safety Board confirmed its own investigation on Sunday,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NTSB_Newsroom\/status\/1979962245703483461\"><u>writing on X<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;that the \u201ccracked windscreen on a Boeing 737-8\u201d was \u201cbeing sent to NTSB laboratories for examination.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cOperating as United flight 1093 from DEN to LAX, airplane diverted safely to SLC,\u201d the NTSB added, saying it was \u201cgathering radar, weather, flight recorder data\u201d as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">While officials did not share or respond to KTLA\u2019s questions about whether anyone was injured when the windscreen cracked, photos shared with KTLA showed what appeared to be a pilot with bloodied cuts or marks on his forearm in the cockpit of the damaged aircraft.
