There\u2019s a new statue on the east end of the National Mall for Washington DC<\/a> residents and tourists to enjoy. The bronze statue shows two men frolicking, grinning wide and holding hands, each with a foot joyously kicked back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe celebrate the long-lasting bond between President Donald J. Trump and his \u2018closest friend,\u2019 Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>,\u201d a plaque at the bottom of the spray-painted bronze installation reads. A permit from the National Park Service will allow the statue to stay on the National Mall grounds through 8pm on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The fabricator of the statue remains unknown, but it has artistic and thematic similarities to recent art pieces critical of the president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Past sculptures on the National Mall that paid side-eyed tribute to Trump include a bronze pile of poop<\/a> perched on a congressional desk to \u201chonor\u201d January 6th protestors, and a statue titled \u201cDictator Approved,\u201d featuring a golden thumbs up crushing the Statue of Liberty\u2019s crown and the base featuring approving quotes of Trump from Vladimir Putin, Jair Bolsonaro, Kim Jong-un and Viktor Orb\u00e1n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The sculpture\u2019s spotlight on Trump\u2019s past relationship with the convicted sex trafficker underscores what has been a particularly persistent thorn in the president\u2019s side, and has caused fissures in the Trump\u2019s typically united Maga base<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While the president has worked to quash interest into the two\u2019s former friendship<\/a>, the issue continues to surface again and again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n An alleged letter from Trump to Epstein in the latter\u2019s 50th birthday book<\/a> included a drawing of a nude woman\u2019s torso asserting that the two had \u201ccertain things in common\u201d and that \u201cenigmas never age\u201d. Trump is far from the only notable presence in Epstein\u2019s birthday book and flight logs, with other big names including the former president Bill Clinton and attorney Alan Dershowitz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lines from the alleged birthday letter are printed verbatim on the statue\u2019s plaques \u2013 one beneath Trump\u2019s feet, one beneath Epstein\u2019s and another on the third honoring \u201cFriendship Month,\u201d that features two outstretched hands forming a heart<\/p>\n\n\n\n The president offered the press a scathing response to the statue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLiberals are free to waste their money however they see fit \u2013 but it\u2019s not news that Epstein knew Donald Trump<\/a>, because Donald Trump kicked Epstein out of his club for being a creep,\u201d a statement from the White House read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
