{"id":45432,"date":"2025-07-29T18:45:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-29T23:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=45432"},"modified":"2025-07-29T22:07:16","modified_gmt":"2025-07-30T03:07:16","slug":"trumps-net-approval-rating-hits-new-low-of-second-term","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=45432","title":{"rendered":"Trump\u2019s net approval rating hits new low of second term"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/donald-trump\/\"><u>President Trump\u2019s\u2002<\/u><\/a>net job approval rating reached its lowest point of his second term in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/d3nkl3psvxxpe9.cloudfront.net\/documents\/econTabReport_7Bn59Tx.pdf\"><u>the latest Economist\/YouGov poll<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Trump\u2019s net approval rating is 15 points underwater \u2014 with 55 percent of surveyed Americans disapproving of the president\u2019s performance in office and 40 percent approving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">For&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/5403189-trumps-disapproval-rating-hits-record-for-second-term\/\"><u>the last two weeks<\/u><\/a>, 55 percent of Americans have disapproved, and 41 percent have approved of his performance in office; and for the two weeks before that, 53 percent disapproved, and 42 percent approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Trump&nbsp;<a href=\"#page=41\"><u>started his second term<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;with 49 percent approval and 43 percent disapproval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The starkest change in the latest poll comes from Republicans, who\u2019ve shifted away from the president by 12 points over the last two weeks, as the president navigates the country\u2019s fixation on the late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Trump\u2019s latest net approval rating among Republicans is plus 74 points \u2014 with 86 percent approving and 12 percent disapproving of his job in office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">That\u2019s down from Trump\u2019s net approval rating of 86 percent two weeks ago, when 92 percent of Republicans approved and 6 percent disapproved of his handling of the presidency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Among Democrats, meanwhile, Trump\u2019s net approval is negative 85 points; among independents, his net approval rating is negative 33 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Compared with Trump\u2019s overall net approval rating, Americans are happier with the president\u2019s handling of immigration and the economy \u2014 with net approval ratings of negative 6 points and negative 11 points, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">But the president fares worse on several key issues. Trump is underwater by 25 points on inflation and prices; by 20 points on climate change and the environment; and by 19 points on abortion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Trump\u2019s handling of foreign trade and education matches his overall net approval rating of negative 15 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The latest survey, conducted July 25-28, includes 1,777 adults and has a margin of error of 3.4 percentage points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/5426619-trump-approval-rating-new-low\/\">thehill<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Trump\u2019s\u2002net job approval rating reached its lowest point of his second term in&nbsp;the latest Economist\/YouGov poll.
