{"id":43693,"date":"2025-06-18T20:39:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-19T01:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=43693"},"modified":"2025-06-18T22:41:53","modified_gmt":"2025-06-19T03:41:53","slug":"mulvaney-warns-of-safety-concerns-over-white-houses-new-flagpoles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=43693","title":{"rendered":"Mulvaney warns of safety concerns over White House\u2019s new flagpoles"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Former White House chief of staff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/mick-mulvaney\/\"><u>Mick Mulvaney\u2002<\/u><\/a>on Wednesday raised safety concerns about&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/donald-trump\/\"><u>President Trump\u2019s\u2002<\/u><\/a>newly installed flagpoles at the White House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">In an interview on NewsNation\u2019s \u201cThe Hill,\u201d the former Trump official questioned how the president\u2019s helicopter would continue to land safely on the South Lawn, where a flagpole now stands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI see a problem for where they\u2019re supposed to land the helicopter \u2014 because this is right on the South Lawn, and I\u2019m not really sure,\u201d Mulvaney said in the interview when asked about the flagpoles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI imagine they considered this, they\u2019d be landing someplace else, but I\u2019m looking at this going, as the chief of staff, who\u2019s in charge of military operations at the White House, \u2018Where are we landing the helicopter without creating an increased risk for the president of the United States?\u2019 I don\u2019t know the answer to that yet,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The Hill reached out to the White House for comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Trump announced Tuesday he would be gifting the White House two flagpoles, one on the North Lawn and one on the South Lawn. Both were installed Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt is my Great Honor to announce that I will be putting up two beautiful Flag Poles on both sides of the White House, North and South Lawns. It is a GIFT from me of something which was always missing from this magnificent place,\u201d Trump said in a Truth Social post on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese are the most magnificent poles made \u2013 They are tall, tapered, rust proof, rope inside the pole, and of the highest quality.
