Michelle Obama is giving fans a glimpse at \u201cThe Look,\u201d her new book coming out in the fall. In the book, she reflects about how her appearance during her time in the White House was \u201cconstantly being dissected\u201d and aims to \u201creclaim more of that story\u201d for herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The former first lady, whose memoir \u201cBecoming\u201d was a bestseller in 2018, announced on Instagram<\/a> on June 5 that her new book will be released on November 4. \u201cThe Look\u201d is her first book since her 2022 bestseller, \u201cThe Light We Carry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDuring our family\u2019s time in the White House, the way I looked was constantly being dissected \u2014 what I wore, how my hair was styled,\u201d she wrote. \u201cFor a while now, I\u2019ve been wanting to reclaim more of that story, to share it in my own way. I\u2019m thankful to be at a stage in life where I feel comfortable expressing myself freely \u2014 wearing what I love and doing what feels true to me. And I\u2019m excited to share some of what I\u2019ve learned along the way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Obama, 61, wrote that \u201cThe Look\u201d is \u201ca reflection on my lifelong journey with fashion, hair and beauty.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cInside, you\u2019ll find some of the outfits that have meant the most to me, but more importantly, the moments that I lived through in them \u2014 big and small, personal and political, historic and ordinary \u2014 that were as memorable as the clothes themselves,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The former first lady is also sharing the stories of her stylist, makeup artist and hairstylists who helped shape her appearance during her time in the White House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe Look is about more than fashion,\u201d she wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s about confidence. It\u2019s about identity. It\u2019s about the power of authenticity.
