Russia fired a record number of drones Monday into several of Ukraine\u2019s regions amid President Trump\u2019s\u2002<\/u><\/a>recent criticism of Russian<\/u><\/a> President Vladimir Putin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia\u2019s military launched 355 drones along with nine missiles late Sunday, according to Ukraine\u2019s air force<\/u><\/a>. Ukraine said Monday morning that it has \u201cneutralized\u201d 288 drones and all of the missiles were shot down. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drone attack came just a day after the Kremlin\u2019s military launched the largest aerial attack<\/u><\/a> of the war in eastern Europe that has been ongoing for more than three years. Russia launched 298 drones and 69 missiles, targeting two dozen cities across Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky\u2002<\/u><\/a>called on the United States, his allies in Europe and supporters of Ukraine around the world to strongly respond to the attack and exercise more pressure on Putin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump, who has sought to end the largest land conflict in Europe since World War II, told reporters on Sunday that he is not \u201chappy with what Putin\u2019s doing.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe\u2019s killing a lot of people and I don\u2019t know what the hell happened to Putin. I\u2019ve known him a long time. Always gotten along with him. But he\u2019s sending rockets into cities and killing people and I don\u2019t like it at all. OK. We\u2019re in the middle of talking and he\u2019s shooting rockets into Kyiv and other cities. I don\u2019t like it at all,\u201d the president added<\/u><\/a>, indicating that additional sanctions are on the table. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump followed up on Sunday, accusing Putin\u2002<\/u><\/a>on social media of having gone \u201cabsolutely\u201d crazy<\/u><\/a> and warning the Russian leader that if he did not halt his military\u2019s action, it would lead to a downfall of Moscow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the same post, Trump lit into Zelensky, arguing he is \u201cdoing his Country no favors by talking the way he does.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEverything out of his mouth causes problems, I don\u2019t like it, and it better stop,\u201d Trump wrote Sunday night on Truth Social. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kremlin expressed gratitude to the United States \u201cfor their assistance in organizing and launching this negotiation process.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Russian spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, \u201cof course, at the same time, this is a very crucial moment<\/u><\/a>, which is associated, of course, with the emotional overload of everyone absolutely and with emotional reactions.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
