{"id":42453,"date":"2025-05-18T22:16:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T03:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=42453"},"modified":"2025-05-18T23:02:10","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T04:02:10","slug":"obamas-react-to-biden-cancer-diagnosis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ustower.net\/?p=42453","title":{"rendered":"Obamas react to Biden cancer diagnosis"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Former&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/barack-obama\/\"><u>President Obama\u2002<\/u><\/a>on Sunday responded to news of former&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/joe-biden\/\"><u>President Biden\u2019s\u2002<\/u><\/a>prostate cancer diagnosis by expressing confidence in his former vice president\u2019s \u201ctrademark resolve and grace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">He also pointed to the work Biden has done to advance cancer research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMichelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/obama\/\"><u>Obama\u2002<\/u><\/a>wrote in a post on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe pray for a fast and full recovery,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Biden led the Obama administration\u2019s Cancer Moonshot initiative, which aimed to accelerate cancer research, improve prevention and treatment strategies, foster greater collaboration in the medical research space and improve access to care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Biden relaunched the initiative during his term as president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The message comes shortly after Biden\u2019s spokesperson announced the \u201caggressive\u201d cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLast week, President&nbsp;Joe Biden&nbsp;was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms,\u201d the statement from Biden\u2019s personal office read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOn Friday he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone,\u201d it continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhile this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management.
