Rite Aid employees assisting with this process will continue to receive pay and benefits.&#8221;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodmorningamerica.com\/news\/story\/rite-aid-files-bankruptcy-announces-financial-restructuring-plans-104005932\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Rite Aid, the third-largest standalone pharmacy chain in the U.S., was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.riteaid.com\/about-us\/our-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">founded<\/a>\u00a0in 1962 as Thrif D Discount Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
